Mission: This position is an exceptional opportunity to gain first-hand clinical mental health experience in a paid position. The scribe will work one-on-one with a psychiatrist or psych NP for the provider’s entire shift, observing all of the provider’s patient encounters and documenting those encounters in the electronic medical records. There is extensive opportunity for the scribe to observe how providers interact with patients to gather information, and then use that information to assess and treat the patients. However, the scribe is not merely an observer, but is an important and contributing member of the treatment team. By ensuring that documentation is detailed and of high quality, and by freeing the provider to spend more time face-to-face with the patient, the scribe is able to improve the quality of patient care.
